A good light environment includes full-spectrum daytime sunshine as well as 10-14 hours of complete darkness at night.

As you progress with getting more “circadian” in your lifestyle, you may plateau. Yes, things are better, but X, Y, or Z still bothers you. It could be weight you can’t lose, inflammation, rashes, fertility challenges… or even a mental health or cancer diagnosis. At this point, if you live in a good light environment, the next area of health to address is your natural antioxidant activity.

And so, we ask:

What is sapping your electrons?

Because an elevated need for antioxidants means an overabundance of oxidative stress. And oxidative stress, at it’s most basic level, means you are short on electrons. Go back to Make Your Own Antioxidant Cascade for more explanation on that concept.

This is where the quantum biology paradigm comes into play.

We call it “quantum” biology because we are looking at how sub-atomic particles affect life. Within this paradigm, where in the past you might have heard about things like acid/alkaline balance… now you will hear about the same concepts as antioxidant/prooxidant balance.

Or, redox for short.

In either case, we know the differences in electrical charge can:

-break chemical bonds

-perform work

-make biological systems more or less stable as the balance shifts in either direction

And thereby affect life and wellness.

Balancing redox is how grounding/earthing works. By touching bare earth or a tree or grounded surface, your body absorbs free electrons. Different chemicals in our body can then use those absorbed electrons for work. Absorbing electrons makes us more negatively charged—but in a good way! This is another way of saying more alkaline, which is another way of saying less inflamed!

So as you progress in your circadian journey, you can amplify the good effects by also grounding. I highly recommend grounding shoes if you live in a difficult climate! So far, the best I have found with sizes for the whole family are made locally here in Oregon:

I’ve added a module all about grounding and redox to the latest version of my circadian pregnancy workshop. The next date is coming quick: TOMORROW! June 17th. Register here to attend online:

Finally, this information is also expanded upon in my Newborn Jaundice Course for paid subscribers. In my on-demand jaundice course, I not only talk about how quantum particles affect us electrically, I also dig into the new science of how this actually hydrates cells from the INSIDE. It’s absolutely fascinating:

Second module: Newborn constipation relief is the first line of support for newborn jaundice

Let’s look at the first preventable cause of newborn jaundice: lack of hydration and subsequent dehydration and constipation Lack of hydration, or dehydration, is a common problem in pregnancy and breastfeeding. If a mama is dehydrated, can her baby who is dependent upon her also be dehydrated? Of course! And then what happes? Her baby can get constipated and have less pee… leading to increased bilirubin circulating and possibly a jaundice diagnosis. What is the prescription?

I was inspired to create the jaundice course by Dr. Jack Kruse. Watch an excerpt of him explaining the link between disruption and jaundice here:
